Singer and Riddimmaker

ABOUT

Asha D is the multifaceted artist of the reggae planet.

A founding member of the ARTIKAL MUSIC label and the backing band ARTIKAL BAND that we no longer present, it is with these that he accompanied many Jamaican artists including Sister Carol, Natural Black, The Heptones, Ras Shiloh, Jah Mali, Rod Taylor and Queen Omega but not only. The group multiplies the connections with the  "hexagonal"  such as Tiwony, Straika D, Lyricson, Baby G, MC Janik, Netna, Vybrate, Makah Jah Kousi, and in particular YaniSs Odua with whom they play since 2010.

With the backing Band Marseillais "The Handcart" that he will integrate later, he will accompany legends of reggae: The Abyssinians, Pablo Moses, The Mighty Diamonds or AL Capone.

In 1998, he appeared on a major project, the compilation "+ de coeur = soleil" initiated by Pierpoljak (Universal) and since, Asha D does not cease to exist musically. At the crossroads, he meets Junior Delgado or Rod Taylor for whom he becomes backing vocals.

Always seeking to give meaning to words by combining his pen with the rhythms he composes, the artist expresses himself on subjects that are close to his heart and the "Conscious" remains unquestionably his trademark.

When he takes out his cap of producer and director of the label Artikal Music, it is a flop of quality sounds that emerges. Between Sizzla, Mikal Roze, The Congos, Yaniss Odua or Mark Cupidore, each time the particularity of the productions surprises.
In 2019, he takes a new step by creating www.riddiminstrumental.com with his sidekick Vegas, a website specially designed for the sale of Reggae, Dancehall and Beatmaking instruments produced by Asha D himself.
In short, the musician creates tirelessly by composing and accompanying many musical projects for different labels and artists up to the international.

On the news side, it is as a singer, producer and musician that he presents his 2 first Ep: “The Pressure” released in June 2022 accompanied by the version “The Pressure - album Dub Showcase”, 12 tracks where appear Queen Omega and Tairo then, recently released in February 2023, the EP “Roots Meditation” including 6 well-named tracks.
Asha D confirms her place on drums and microphone with two tracks in collaboration with Yaniss Odua and Maylan Manaza, not to mention the presence of Dean Frazer, Jamaican saxophonist and harmonica player Harold Wolters.
This little gem is made alongside the musicians of the Artikal Band and Marie-Annick Nsilulu, gospel artist who gives relief to harmonies.

Today, it is in the first part of Yaniss Odua that he finds himself on stage for his first tour for a dozen live dates, accompanied by his Artikal Band.
