About

Asha D is a central artist, producer, and musician in the French reggae scene.

A founding member of the Artikal Music label and the Artikal Band, he has collaborated with major figures such as Sizzla, Queen Omega, Yaniss Odua, Pierpoljak, and The Congos. A sought-after drummer, he has backed reggae legends such as U-Roy and Pablo Moses on stage.

A committed singer, he began his career in 1998 with the compilation "+ de cœur = soleil" (Universal), and has since released acclaimed productions that blend powerful riddims with conscious lyrics.

In 2019, he launched riddiminstrumental.com, a platform gathering over 450 original riddims. His album "Vivre en Paix" (2024) features Pierpoljak and Uman; in December 2025 he released the mixtape "Serious Time".

A prolific artist, he has released a new track every month for several years. A complete musician, he sometimes sings while playing the drums on stage. He is now preparing his new album "Où va ce monde ?".

On stage, Asha D performs in sound system format with Lychar (Guiding Star Sound), in a hybrid duo with Artikal Fab, or with the Artikal Band. He has played at numerous festivals and notably opened for Yaniss Odua.

"Où va ce monde ?" ("Where is this world heading?") unfolds as a journey in six chapters. Asha D looks at the tensions of our time without turning away — from resistance to love, then to warning — to a conclusion that leaves the question open.

Carried by the Artikal Band, the project is rooted in organic roots reggae played live (one drop, rockers, steppa), with lyrics at its core. Six tracks, six dubs: where the vocal versions set a gaze, the dubs open a more sensory, immersive space. A coherent, inhabited body of work, against the grain of today's formats.

It's not a statement. It's a path.
